It's a busy weekend at CWCHS! We start the weekend with graduation at 7 pm. Saturday brings Prom and After-Prom. Sunday is the Post-Prom Powderpuff football tournament. The public is invited to the powderpuff football game. Admission is a donation at the gate for next year's Jr/Sr Prom.
This Saturday, May 22, Carmi-White County High School will host a Junior-Senior prom in the McDougal Evers Gymnasium. The evening will include a dinner catered by Yesterday's in Carmi, followed by a promenade ceremony at 8 p.m. to announce each student attending, and then a coronation ceremony to crown prom king and queens.
In light of last year's prom being cancelled due to Covid-19, this year's prom court has broken the tradition of junior queen and senior king candidates to include both junior and senior girls as queen candidates. One of each will be crowned prom queen at Saturday's event alongside the senior prom king.
The school plans to stream the ceremonies on the school's YouTube channel and families are invited to attend as social distancing allows. Doors will open at 7:45 p.m. and masks will be required. All public must leave immediately following the ceremonies.
Pictured:
Junior queen candidates include Sloane Barbre, Abbie Millhorn, Makayla Blazier, and Elleigh Gray. Senior king candidates are Kaden Carter, KaCee Fulkerson, Blake Pollard, and Gia Berekashvili. Senior queen candidates are Jasmine Smith, Addison Bebout, Marley Mallow, and Emma Hoskins.
