CUSD #5 Food Service Staff are ready to serve our students in a new way today! We can’t say thanks enough!
Due to the directive of Governor Pritzker and the closing of all Illinois schools from Tuesday, March 17th through Monday, March 30th, Carmi-White County CUSD #5 will provide the following learning opportunities:
* Pre-K through 3rd grade, learning packets will be sent home.
* 4th through 12th grade students will have Chromebooks sent home. Online learning opportunities will be provided by individual teachers via Google Classrooms. Students whose families do not have internet access should notify their respective school.
*Brownsville School students will also have materials sent home.
Students who are not in attendance on Monday will have an opportunity to pick up materials on Tuesday, March 17th from 8am to 1pm.
School office hours will be from 8am to 1pm from March 17th to March 20th. Please contact the office for any assistance needed. This situation is ever-changing, and updated information will be pushed out through the district website and C-WC app. Please download the app for the most up-to-date information. As previously stated, all extracurricular and co-curricular activities will be cancelled from Tuesday, March 17th through Monday, March 30th.

WAC will also need to reschedule the 4th grade Lincoln Play that was scheduled for April 2nd. We will keep parents notified of the new date. Keep practicing those lines and songs at home!
WAC is going to cancel Cosmic Bingo this year with the school closures. We will be returning money when school is back in session. Thank you for your support. We will be back up and 'Bingo"ing next year!!!
We have just received word that Governor Pritzker has issued a directive that all public and private schools in Illinois will be close from Tuesday, March 17 through Monday, March 30, along with all extra-curricular and co-curricular activities/practices. School is scheduled to resume on Tuesday, March 31 unless we are told differently.
There will not be track practice for girls or boys on Thursday, March 19 because of Parent-Teacher Conferences at the junior high.
6th Grade Girls Volleyball - There will be a volleyball game on Tuesday, March 17. Sixth-grade volleyball girls who wish to scrimmage need to be at the WAC Gym ready to play at 5 pm. Track girls will be dismissed from practice early enough to make it in time.
CUSD #5 will be postponing school dismissal for today 3/12/20 due to severe weather warnings. Students will be dismissed as soon as weather permits.
Due to possible inclement weather, WAC will not have tutoring today (3/12). Also tonight's volleyball game against Gallatin County is cancelled.

Tumble Time Infinity Elite earned first place and grand champions this weekend and just received a first place bid to nationals! Congratulations to Sophia Hammell, Chole Shelton, Callie Winter, Ellah Carter, Sophia Thomason, Lillee Dodgson, and the rest of the Tumble Time Cheer Squad.
It's that time of the year again!! We will be hosting Cosmic Bingo on March 27 at 6pm! Doors open at 5 pm. We will have fun-filled intermissions with a variety of activities. Admission - $15 in advance, $20 at the door, Table of 8 for $115. Any businesses that want to sponsor students, please call 382-4631. To cut down on the line at the door, this year you can pick up your bingo bag on Thursday, March 26 from 8am-5pm at the school. All the proceeds fund the PBIS program which supplies the Bulldog Buck Store and the monthly incentives! Registration forms can be picked up in the office.
After experimenting with chemical reactions in class, fifth graders watched one of Mrs. Haley's Chemistry 2 classes present on chemical reactions. The high school went live on Facebook, so check out the video!
